At Emonie’s Closet, we believe in the transformative power
of preparation—one outfit, one skill, one person at a time.

Founded in 2019, after an untimely passing of my
daughter, the commitment to honor her legacy through her journey of foster care
created the template to start a nonprofit that services youth in foster care, those
aged out of the services and/or families experiencing transient financial
challenges within approximately 6 counties located in the State of
Georgia.

At Emonie’s Closet, we are not
just addressing an immediate need; we are fostering a culture of equipping.
The impact of our program is not just in the clothes we provide but, in the
confidence, skills, and independence we inspire

Core Values of Emonie’s Closet — From the Founder, Leigh Canada

1. Dignity First

Every child and family deserves to feel seen, valued, and respected. We honor their journey by providing clothing and resources that uplift their confidence and sense of self-worth.

2. Empowerment Through Opportunity

We believe access creates possibility. Whether it's a fresh outfit for an interview, essential supplies, or guidance on next steps, we empower individuals to build their future with pride and purpose.

3. Community With Compassion

Emonie’s Closet exists because a community chooses to love out loud. We cultivate a space where compassion leads and every act of giving strengthens the bridge between those who can help and those who need it.

4. Legacy of Love

Inspired by Emonie’s spirit, we carry her light forward. Her joy, generosity, and resilience are woven into every service, reminding us that love leaves an impact that lasts beyond a lifetime.

5. Integrity in Service

We show up with honesty, accountability, and gratitude. Every donation, partnership, and interaction reflects our commitment to serving with excellence and staying true to our mission.

Emonie’s Closet is more than a charitable program; it's a haven where individuals find not just clothes but the threads of their future.

Our mission is to prepare a youth in foster care, those aging out of the system, and families experiencing transient financial challenges. By providing free clothing and informational about essential vocational and business skills, we aim to instill dignity,
self-worth, and independence.

Our program, Emonie’s Closet of Champions, is not just about free clothes and information; it's about creating a pathway toward
self-sufficiency, ensuring that every individual, no matter their circumstance, can confidently step into a brighter future.

Every outfit and skill we provide is a like a stitch towards preparing for a positive future.

There are approximately 11k youth in foster care in the State of Georgia.

Within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia, an estimated amount of 2056 of which are 18 and younger was part of the Department Foster Care Services that found themselves at a critical juncture where support was paramount.

Approximately 134 will have run away, be incarcerated, homeless or die.
